Hello LAS,
This is a reminder that LAS will present the
popular “Birds of the Truckee Meadows” Bird again this year starting
May 10, 2011. This is an excellent learning opportunity for new
birders, birders new to the area, or birders seeking a review.
This year, classes will be back at the Nevada Department of
Wildlife, 1100 Valley Road in Reno, from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesdays
beginning May 10. The cost is $40 for all five classes or $10
per single class (payable at the door – please arrive early to pay).
Each session is presented by a different local
expert (see below). Please note that there will indeed be five
sessions (unfortunately the fifth class was left out in the
notice of the classes in the last issue of the Pelican). The
class schedule this year is:
May 10 -- Introduction to
Birding, Dave
Jickling
May 17 – Mountain Birds,
Jim Eidel,
May 24 -- Birds of Lakes
and Marshes, Larry Neel
May 31 -- Backyard
Birds, Alan Gubanich
June 7 -- Birds of
Prey, Bob Goodman
For further information, or to
register, contact Bob Goodman at
pandion36@aol.com, or 775-972-7848.
